An Anomaly scan is done at 18-24 weeks of gestation to rule out major structural problems. Fetal growth and amniotic fluid are also checked at the same time. Some patients may need a review scan in case views are not clear due to maternal obesity, previous maternal surgery, or at times due to fetal position. The scan helps in the detection of anomalies that are detectable as per the gestational age.
